Wild, wild architecture inc. is a full-service, woman owned architecture practice led by Principal Architect, Kailey Kroeker (MAA, MRAIC, LEED AP BD+C) based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In thanks to the natural world, 1% of all sales are donated to nature causes.
Inspired by the basic human need for social connection, we believe that good design connects people to place and each other, and improves the quality of life. We believe that the best lives are lived in a state of connectedness, to each other and to the natural world, and we think thoughtful architecture can make a difference.
We encourage thoughtful and creative built interventions such as aging in place, accessory dwelling units, laneway houses, granny suites, multi-generational living, small footprint living, and the “missing middle,” to bring to life our vision of intentional, sustainable living.
The name Wild, wild architecture inc. was chosen to:
reference the beauty of the natural world as design inspiration;
reference something that lives or grows with characteristics that suit the natural conditions of a place, a respectful relationship between the built world and the natural world;
make use of a turn of phrase sometimes used in the English language to describe something that may be unusual, special, or different from the norm in an attractive and exciting way.
And, it’s fun.
Kailey is an award-winning registered architect gaining design firm experience since 2012 in a range of project typologies including residential, speculative multi-family housing, heritage, and community projects. With a Dutch mother and years of travel, Kailey has been inspired by the different styles of living in other places. In 2025, Kailey started Wild, wild architecture inc. to work with like-minded people to bring creativity and thoughtful design for intentional living to Winnipeg. Kailey’s project experience in the themes of residential, renovation, accessibility, and sustainability align to the firm’s vision of encouraging connectedness to people and place to improve quality of life through good design.
In addition to practicing architecture, Kailey has been a sessional instructor and regular guest critic in the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Manitoba teaching Design Studios and drawing in the undergraduate Environmental Design program. Kailey has volunteered as a board member of StorefrontMB, a design advocacy organization, and Bike Winnipeg, a bicycling advocacy organization.
